Why do we take photos?
I think a lot about how important it is to document life as it’s happening. I know it feels easy to wait another year or to get in better shape or to invest in a session when you have more money. But, Your life is happening now. Don’t wait to document it.
I know, I know… maybe the thought of getting your photo taken in a swimsuit sounds unbearable. Maybe you don’t take photos of your space because it’s not aesthetically pleasing like the houses you see on TikTok.
But, my friend, the way you look in a swimsuit with no makeup on and the place you call home (even the messy parts) is part of your life. It’s part of your story.
Think about 10 or 20 years from now. Will you regret taking annual family photos? Will you regret the photo of you laughing in your swimsuit that your friend took while making memories together? Will you regret investing in a wedding photographer to capture one of your best days ever?
My guess is, no. My guess is you’ll be really grateful to have all those moments frozen in time.
Life moves dang fast. Like really fast. And photos are the only thing we get to take with us once a moment has passed. You take the feelings and the memories too, but part of the point of photographs is being able to bring all those feelings and memories back in an instant.
Your story matters. Whatever it looks like and however messy it is, it really does matter. Your life deserves to be documented.
