Fall Senior Picture Outfit Inspiration

It may be June right now, but if you’re planning on fall senior photos, I know you’re already thinking about what you’re going to wear!

Struggling to choose your fall senior picture outfits? Lilly is here to help! I absolutely loved this sunrise senior session. Partly because the light was to die for, but mostly because Lilly rocked it and I love their style!

I got to hang with Lilly on a crisp morning in September in St. Louis, MO! Although I’m Denver based, I love going back to my midwest roots for some lush green grass and open fields.

Lilly chose three outfits for their two hour adventure session! It was the perfect variety. AND, we came up with a bonus fourth outfit at the end!

Their first look was so chic and fun! I love when my seniors bring jackets or other layers, because it can easily add so much variety to the different looks! So if you’re stuck, start thinking about what accessories you can add to your outfits to make it fun! Fall is the perfect time to layer up.

I really liked the colors from this first look too. Typically, I suggest to stay away from super bright colors because the colors can become the focus in the photos, instead of you. Lilly rocked it by picking muted, earthy tones. The burgundy and green paired so well with the landscape!

For the second look, Lilly brought the flower child vibes with super cute jeans and a crop top! I love the detailed stitching on the jeans. I always suggest doing one outfit that feels like an everyday look. For a lot of seniors, this means jeans and a top like this, but it can be whatever you want it to be!

The morning light in these has me drooling!

For their third look, Lilly chose a super cute romper! I love fall because it brings out lots of rich colors, like these yellow flowers we found! It was fun to get creative with some pops of color. Lilly’s romper was a great contrast against the yellow since their top was white!

Then, we came up with a fourth look that Lilly wasn’t planning on wearing! I really loved those stitched jeans (haha), so they brought them back paired with their white top from the first look for some more variety. This brings me to another piece of advice: always bring options! Even if you aren’t sure you want to wear them all for your photos, it’s fun to be able to mix and match depending on the backdrop, lighting, etc. I’m here to help and hype you up!

These forest photos are some of my favorite ever. The light pouring in through the trees was truly magical!

Typically, I’m not a morning person, but I’ll do almost anything for this magical morning light! I had the best time with Lilly and I’m so grateful to have captured these memories for them.

Cheers to fall senior photos! Remember: layer up, rock those earthy tones and wear something that feels like you!
