Wedding photos are important. I can say that because it's often what brides and grooms spend the most on when planning their wedding day.
Weddings are different from any kind of photoshoot. Sure there is usually posing and dedicated photo time involved, but a wedding is an event that deserves to be documented.
Your wedding photographer has the honor and responsibility of capturing moments for you to remember forever- some that may even go unnoticed if it weren’t for them. .
I’m going to go one step further and say your wedding photographer allows you to feel the moments from your wedding day all over again.
I think feeling and remembering are two different things. A smiling, posed photo of a bride and groom is great and allows everyone to remember the day. But, I’m not sure if it provides the same feeling as a photo of a groom gently resting his hand on his bride’s back.
I don’t know if this has ever happened to you, but sometimes I think back to my childhood memories and I realize the memory I have is actually a memory of a photo I’ve seen. I don’t have a crystal clear memory of meeting Cinderall in Disney world, but I do remember the photo of us together.
It’s not a memory of a photo that I want to provide my couples- I want them to truly be back in the moment when they see a photo from their wedding day. I hope to tell their story in a way that puts them right back in it when they look at the photos. I want them to feel it.
The way your spouse’s hand felt on your back, the energy of the dance floor, the anxious anticipation of watching your bride walk down the aisle, the goosebumps on your skin, the deep breath you took as your mom zipped you in your dress, the tears that fell as you read your vows, the laughter and joy felt when you cut the cake. The sun on your skin.
That’s a whole lot of emotion packed into one day.
No matter what your wedding day looks like, it’ll all fly by so fast. I think it would be impossible to remember it all because of the amount of emotion and celebration that takes place. It can be overwhelming, in the best way!
