Senior Photos at Mount Falcon
Maggie’s senior session is one I’ll never forget! It was one of the first nights in May that really felt like summer. The grass was finally turning green, the golden light poured through the pines and we weren’t freezing!
I love taking senior photos at Mount Falcon because it’s only 40 minutes from Denver and the location offers a variety of backdrops. We can frolick in the field, wander through the trees and take in all the mountain views. We took these photos at the Mount Falcon West trailhead, which is important to note, because the Mount Falcon East trailhead has a very different look/feel.
I loved all of Maggie’s outfits, especially because she thrifted a handful of the things she wore. Buying second hand clothes is one way to ensure your outfits are unique! Not to mention, it’s a fun way to spend an afternoon. Some of my favorite thrift and second hand stores in Denver are: Goodwill, Common Threads and Garage Sale Vintage.
We kicked things off with Maggie’s iconic overalls that were perfect for frolicking and cartwheels. I mean, seriously, this outfit is so fun!
Next, she changed into a more dressy look, which I typically suggest. Ladies, this is your reminder that you don’t have to wear a dress for your senior pictures, if it doesn’t feel like you!
I am obsessed with the colors in these… the yellow just pops!
Before every senior session, I have my seniors fill out a form to help me get to know them. One of the questions asks if there are any hobbies or sports that you want to include in your session. I was so excited when Maggie said she wanted to do some dance photos, so we ended our session with Maggie dancing in the golden light. I’m obsessed with how these turned out!
If you’re thinking about taking your senior photos at Mount Falcon, the only thing that’s required is the Jefferson County Photography Permit. I have the annual permit, so my clients never have to worry about securing permits or paying additional fees per session!
As I look back on this gallery, I see so much genuine joy, which is just the way I like it. It was such an honor to document Maggie’s story as she goes into her senior year! Cheers to the class of 2025!
