Wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens

If you’re considering having your wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens…. DO IT! Considering it is a beautifully manicured garden, there isn’t much that can go wrong. It’s a blank canvas, so that you can bring your wedding vision to life, but it’s a real good looking blank canvas.

Wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens

Tierney and Dylan got married at the gardens on a beautiful August day. If you picture a summer garden wedding, this was it! I remember during our first meeting, Tierney told me she wanted a wedding day that was “beautiful,” had “no cheese” and was fun for their guests. And that’s exactly what the day was! It was effortlessly beautiful and the furthest thing from cheesy; it was elegant. It seems like the guests had a dang good time as evidenced by the dance floor photos you’ll see later!

I absolutely loved capturing this wedding day! Every part felt iconic. Tierney and Dylan are people that you meet and then immediately want to be friends with. I look back on this wedding as one of my favorites in my career because of how wonderful they were!

The day started with Tierney and Dylan getting ready at separate locations. I got to hang out with the girls, while the second shooter hung out with the guys! I think this is a great example that getting ready spaces don’t have to be anything too fancy. The gals got ready at Tierney and Dylan’s house which was so fun! We used the indoor space as well as the backyard. The photos look different than a typical “bridal suite,” but that’s what I love about them; they’re unique!

The guys all got ready and hung out at a hotel.

Typically, I am an emotional mess during first looks and this one was no different! Just look at how happy these two are.

Taking photos at the Denver Botanic Gardens is so fun because you get to wander around and stop at all kinds of beautiful spots. It allows for so much variety in your photos!

Now. We need a moment, or maybe a few moments, for the stunning gown Tierney wore. Tierney has a reputation among her family and friends for having impeccable style, and she absolutely upheld that reputation August 27th. Just like the wedding day as a whole, this dress was effortlessly beautiful. I will never be over it!

The pair have been together since high school, so this wonderful celebration was a longtime coming. It was evident their family and friends were so excited to see them finally tying the knot! The ceremony was held in the “Romantic Gardens” within the Denver Botanic Gardens.

Throughout Tierney and Dylan’s relationship they often handshake. It was no different to seal the deal of marriage! I love seeing all the things that make my couple’s who they are, especially with the little things like this!

Another great thing about a wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens, is that it feels like there are multiple venues within the venue. Couples can choose to rent out whichever spaces they want. Tierney and Dylan choose a second space for their cocktail hour, dinner and reception. I loved the variety!

If I could only give one piece of advice to any couples planning a wedding… it would be to do the dang sunset photos. It’s not really about the sunset (although it is my favorite time to shoot), it’s about sneaking away with you new spouse to take it all in. Show off those rings. Make out a little bit. You’re MARRIED!

The couple chose to ditch a lot of the traditional wedding things, which I loved! It is your wedding day afterall… not your grandma’s. They still did speeches which was sweet because their family and friends have seen them grow as a couple for over 10 years. Wild!

Then it was time to PARTY! If you know me, you know I love to dance. Give me all the dance floors.

And now we need another moment to talk about this iconic outfit change. What can’t this bride pull off?! Outfit changes are fun and practical. Since the couple did a first look, we had tons of time for photos in Tieney’s first gown, so getting photos in a second outfit was a no brainer. Plus, dancing in a long or wide gown isn’t always the easiest thing. You don’t want anything to hold you back from the dance floor at your own wedding!

I’m sure you’re already convinced, but I think this wedding was everything elegant and iconic. Cheers to Tierney and Dylan forever and ever!
