Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement Photos
One of my favorite places to go in Colorado is Estes Park. You just can’t go wrong! I was so excited when Alyssa and Luke were down for some Rocky Mountain National Park engagement photos. We lucked out with a perfect evening and a beautiful sunset!
RMNP is only an hour and a half from Denver which makes this location pretty accessible! Plus, the drive is beautiful so it doesn’t feel like something you have to get through. One thing to note is that a permit is required for all weddings and photo sessions. I always take care of securing the permit for my couples, so they don’t have to worry about it!
Alyssa and Luke kept their outfits simple with neutral colors, which makes this photographer’s heart happy! Their outfits complimented each other and the landscape well. Sometimes, if there are too many patterns or colors going on, photos can feel busy. It can be hard to know where to look. I always make it a goal for my couple to be the main focus throughout their gallery while also highlighting the beauty of the landscape. Alyssa brought a hat and jean jacket to change up her look which was brilliant. One of my favorite photos is the one above with Alyssa holding her hat with her ring showing. It’s something different and unique; Accessories allow for variety without wasting time changing outfits.
We only went to two locations during the session, but it looks like we did three! Rocky Mountain National Park is huge, so it’s important to be strategic so that we don’t waste your session time driving around. We started at a location with a field and stunning mountain views. Next, we went to a lake. To end the session we went back to the first location. The funny thing is, it looks like a totally different location! The sun had gone behind the mountains which meant the light looked totally different.
When looking at Alyssa and Luke’s gallery, you might assume we spent hours going to different locations, but in reality we did the whole session (including drive time between locations) in less than 90 minutes. Having a photographer who knows the park well can be a huge advantage to getting stunning engagement photos!
If you’re hoping to make some Rocky Mountain National Park engagement photos come to life, I’m your gal!
