The Barn at Raccoon Creek Wedding

A sunny October day, breakfast for dinner and an all black dress code. I couldnโ€™t dream up a better day if I tried!

Miquela and Brandonโ€™s wedding was at The Barn at Raccoon Creek in Littleton, CO. I loved the backdrop of yellow leaves and of course the perfect golden hour on the green (weโ€™ll get to that later)!

From the get-go I knew Miquela had a specific vision for their day and it was so amazing to see it all come together through all of the little details. Can we talk about her ring? I absolutely loved her unique wedding band from Sarah O.

The reception space was to die for. The simple tablescapes allowed for the glow of the candles and string lights to be the main event. It was such a cozy atmosphere!

After photographing the details, I got to document the couple getting ready for the day. These are always some of my favorite moments as the anticipation builds! I loved the cottage that Miquela and her girls got ready in.

Iโ€™ll just leave these first look photos hereโ€ฆ. where are the tissues?

The couple opted of out doing a first look with each other, so we got to take some individual portraits before the ceremony. It was so sweet interacting with each of them, seeing how excited they were to get married in just a matter of hours!

Part of Miquelaโ€™s vision for the day was an all black dress code for immediate family and the wedding party. I was so excited to see this executed and it did not disappoint! One thing that stands out really well against black isโ€ฆ. white. Miquela was an absolute vision in her wedding dress, made even more stunning with the contrast. Sheโ€™s glowing! The guyโ€™s all looked extra sharp in their all black look, too. Brandon contrasted the group with a white shirt instead of black on black. Iโ€™ll forever be obsessed with this day!

I loved the emphasis this day had on the coupleโ€™s families. Iโ€™m committed to getting great group photos, where everyone is looking and has their eyes open, but I also love catching the more in between, natural moments during this time. These are some of my favorite family photos to date!

The ceremony was held outside on the lawn and it was so beautiful! The florals were simple and elegant which paired so well with the pop of colors on the trees. I just love the white flowers against the blue sky!

Miquelaโ€™s entrance to the ceremony was one Iโ€™ll never forget. The music was timed perfectly as the doors opened to reveal Miquela and her mom standing in the sun. It was an emotional moment for everyone, but especially for Brandon as he saw his bride for the first time.

The whole ceremony had the most beautiful sunlight and rich emotion. These are the moments that make me feel the weight and responsibility of my job! I feel so grateful.

After the ceremony, guests hung outside for cocktail hour and I got to go take some sunset photos with the newlyweds!

My favorite part about The Barn at Raccoon Creek was our sunset photo spotโ€ฆ so dreamy!

Miquela and Brandonโ€™s reception was simple and sweet. They shared a first dance, a few speeches were given and they cut the cake.

Then, it was time for Miquelaโ€™s iconic outfit change. And to freaking party of course! I loved capturing the energy of the dance floor and I even got to sneak away with Miquela and Brandon for some fun flash photos.

What a day! Iโ€™ll be forever grateful that these two trusted me to document their best day ever. Cheers to Mr and Mrs Hodge!
