Wedding in Colorado Springs

After photographing the moment Mike got down on one knee to ask Lia to marry him, I had been anxiously awaiting their wedding day! These two are kind, down to earth and fun. I knew their wedding would be a party to remember…. And I wasn’t wrong! I want to relive it over and over again! I’m so excited to share some of the magic with you.

The day started with the couple getting ready in different locations. I always love this portion of a wedding day because the anticipation and excitement in the air is so fun to experience with my couples! I can’t believe I get to be a part of so many wedding days.

Having your wedding in Colorado Springs is always a good idea because Garden of the Gods is so easy to access for photos! We thought there was a chance it could be snowing on October 21st, but it was actually pretty warm in the sun! We started our time at the park with Mike and Lia’s first look under the shade of a tree.

Mike and Lia shared their private vows after their first look and it was so sweet to witness. If you don’t want to share your vows in front of family and friends, you don’t have to! If an intimate moment, just the two of you, feels right, then do it! I loved capturing this moment.

This couple got soooo many couple’s photos on their wedding day because we had all the time in the world. One thing is clear when you look at these photos: Mike loves Lia and Lia loves Mike. And they look GOOOOOD together.

This wedding party brought the energy! It was so obvious how excited they were for Mike and Lia to get married. The guys rocked a classic black and white look. Mike stood out with an all black fit, which I thought looked so good against the red rocks! The girls looked stunning in their red/burnt orange color palette! I love how the color choices complimented the backdrop.

After photos, it was time to get these two MARRIED! Mike and Lia’s ceremony and reception was at Black Forest by Wedgewood. This venue’s tall pines are so pretty! And, it was a great contrast to Mike and Lia’s Garden of the God’s photos.

The couple had their ceremony outside as the light poured through the pines. It was so beautiful!

The moments after Mike and Lia were pronounced husband and wife are some of my favorite ever! Look at that JOY!

Then, it was time for some sunset photos! I have no words for these. So I’ll just leave them here.

If you didn’t already catch on, Mike and Lia have amazing style and like I said, they look dang good together. So of course, Lia had a second dress that was amazingggg. Lia’s family is from the Marshall Islands, so the couple honored that with their second look during the reception.

I have never experienced such a hype reception entrance! The sparkler fountains and the energy in the room was amazing.

After dinner, it was to celebrate THE D’IPPOLITOS! And that’s what we freakin’ did.

I was there when Lia said “yes” and I got to witness these two say “I do.” I feel so lucky to document love stories like this one. I’ll always be a big fan of Mike and Lia!!
